Lab42 unveils social network sampling service

North America

US— A new name has emerged in the field of social media sampling, Chicago-based Lab42, a start-up that conducts surveys on samples of Facebook and MySpace users.

Lab42 was launched by business development firm Sandbox Industries. It is headed by president Jonathan Pirc, who was previously a project manager at Sandbox.

Pirc (pictured) told Research that Lab42 is looking to expand beyond Facebook and MySpace soon to target users of other social networks such as LinkedIn and Twitter.

Lab42 pricing starts with the $300 ‘gut check’ service, which asks 10 questions to a minimum of 75 respondents and provides results within five working days. The next level allows users to ask 125 respondents a set of 15 questions for $500 and the most expensive service asks 20 questions to a sample of 250 respondents. Results for the last two services are delivered within three working days.
