Incumbent Peter Milla remains with survey sample supplier in consulting capacity

US— Survey Sampling International (SSI) has scrapped the role of chief information officer, moving incumbent Peter Milla to a consulting role.

Kees de Jong, CEO of the sample supplier, said Milla would continue to provide support to many of the firm’s internal technology projects going forward.

De Jong – appointed chief executive in January – said Milla was “a well respected and highly appreciated officer at SSI” but that the role of CIO did not fit with his vision for the company’s executive team.

“With my appointment as SSI’s CEO comes change,” said de Jong. “I set a new agenda and new priorities to adapt the organisation for the opportunities that the current market offers.

“I want to create a small and effective business-oriented executive team. The role of CIO is not part of that.”

Executive responsibility for the company’s IT development has now passed to chief strategy officer Mark Hardy, de Jong said.
