US— YouGov has teamed up with Microsoft to run polls through its Xbox games console in the run up to the US presidential election.
Players on Xbox Live will be asked to take part in a daily poll and to answer questions during live events shown on the Xbox Live election channel. Microsoft’s David Rothschild, the lead pollster on the Xbox side of the project, said that respondents are “enjoying” the experience so far, and that 20,000 are answering the daily poll questions.
Surveys are designed and analysed by YouGov, drawing on a sample of Xbox Live users.
Rothschild said: “This poll is the product of of cutting-edge interactive television and polling techniques that, while not supplanting the established methods today, will be instrumental in both entertainment and information gathering in the future.”
