UK— TNS is partnering with French software developer Actisku to develop online virtual retail environments for shopper research projects.
TNS already uses virtual store technology in central location tests thanks to its sister company Red Dot Square, but taking the concept online and allowing people to take part from their home PCs is a new development for them. Others already engaged in online virtual store tests include InContext Solutions and SimStore.
Actisku’s software logs respondent activity while in the simulation, producing behavioural data which TNS plans to use in conjunction with follow-up interviews to understand how consumers respond to a retail environment.
