UK – In a climate of disruption – from Brexit to Trump, terrorism to global tensions – global business influencers consider technology disruption to be their biggest challenge.
In Ipsos’s Global Business Influencers (GBI) study, it found that the challenges of technology dominate their top business concerns: 39% said technology advances; 38% security/cyber security; and 26% innovation.
The findings were from its GBI Barometer Survey among more than 600 global business influencers (across 17 markets) and its main European dataset among more than 3,000. The business influencers are a very niche, important audience, making up less than 1% of the population.
In terms of the influencers’ business focus, technology was the highest ( 59%), followed by customer satisfaction and retention ( 41%) then cost control/reduction and product development (both 39%).
Data is at the heart of many of their technology priorities. While just over half ( 51%) said IT infrastructure and modernisation, 45% said cyber security, 35% big data, 35% ecommerce, and 34% said data compliance.
