UK – Sir Martin Sorrell has returned to the London stock market today with shares in his new business S4 Capital trading for the first time.

The relisting is the latest step as Sorrell builds a new business since leaving WPP earlier this year. It follows the reverse takeover of Derriston – which Sorrell bought in May as the means to launch his new advertising venture – and its acquisition of Dutch agency, MediaMonks, for £265m.

As executive chairman of S4 Capital Group, Sorrell said: "S4 Capital intends to provide global, multi-national, regional, local clients and influencer-driven millennial brands with new age/new era digital marketing services concentrated in three key areas – further development of a global digital content platform; first-party data fuelling both digital media planning and creative ideas too; and digital media buying."

He said that clients were looking for "faster, better and cheaper" services.

"S4 Capital, through MediaMonks, already works with some of the world’s most prestigious brands, such as adidas, Corona, Google, Johnson & Johnson, Netflix and Shell through 11 offices in 10 countries in the United States, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.

"We are now looking to expand the digital content platform into new high potential growth territories, such as Germany, India and Japan and broaden and deepen the platform itself. We are also exploring new areas of operation in line with our strategic objectives, in data analytics and digital media planning and buying," he added.
