The two previously worked together at Swiss start-up Menios, which provides wireless sensors for biomechanics applications.

Based in Zurich, Switzerland, Bankay previously founded motion capture business prophysics AG in 1996, while Dusseldorf-based Schmitt has over 10 years of experience in human biomechanics.

At Qualisys, Bankay and Schmitt will be responsible for client relationships and managing projects across Europe, supporting the market further as the company expands internationally and moves into new areas including animation, engineering and automotive.

Patrik Almström, market director Europe at Qualisys, said: “They know our industry and our clients inside out – and are already working with many of them. I am sure they will be a huge success in helping us as we continue to grow into new industries and markets across Europe.”
