US— Nielsen and mobile intelligence firm Carrier IQ have partnered to assess the performance of mobile services, networks and devices around the world.
The project will combine data from Carrier IQ’s mobile intelligence software, which is currently deployed on 150 million devices worldwide, and Nielsen’s mobile information (which is gathered through device meters), retail measurement and opt-in consumer panels.
Carrier IQ CEO Larry Lenhart said: “Nielsen’s service quality performance benchmarks are already the de facto standard for network optimisation and advertising claims in the US. They also have a comprehensive understanding of mobile consumers around the world, derived from years of studying and tracking the market. We are delighted our technology will add value to their portfolio of mobile solutions.”
The Carrier IQ technology provides information on how mobile services perform and how devices actually work in the hands of end users.
