Mindshare US appoints data strategy chief

US – WPP-owned global media agency network Mindshare has hired Merkle’s Shane McAndrew as chief data strategy officer.

McAndrew (pictured) was previously senior vice-president, global product growth at Merkle responsible for global business and client development, regional market strategy, and establishing best practices and training, scaling teams and revenue across key global markets.

He has also worked at Visual IQ and Moxie.

Adam Gerhart, US CEO, Mindshare said: "Shane embodies a unique combination of art, inventiveness and science for the role. With his collaborative leadership style and future-forward vision, he'll capitalise on the collective intelligence across our teams to deliver data-driven plans and innovations that solve our client’s most complex challenges."

This is the latest in a number of new appointments at the agency in newly created roles including chief client officer, chief instigation officer and global client lead.
