Marketing firm launches iPhone buzz tracking app

US— Digital marketing agency iCrossing has launched an iPhone app that keeps tabs on what is being said across a range of social media sites.

The Say What? app scans the likes of Twitter and Digg as well as forums and blogs after users have entered the term they wish to search for.

iCrossing said that that the app, which is free to download, stores search terms so users can return to them to get updates.

The firm’s director of mobile strategy, Rachel Pasqua, said: “iCrossing developed Say What? to demonstrate how search, social media and mobile can work together to provide users with information that is in real time and relevant. Our goal was to put one-click social media monitoring in the palm of the user’s hand.”
