IMS Health buys PharmaDeals in latest analytics push
Through the deal PharmaDeals will become part of IMS’s syndicated analytics and insights operation, helping healthcare clients with their real-time decision making in the areas of market assessment, forecasting and lifecycle and portfolio management. PharmaDeals maintains a web-based subscription database containing 46,000 records of industry transactions and 16 years of historical data.
IMS says the acquisition complements its portfolio of competitive intelligence capabilities, which include company benchmarking, sales force sizing and therapeutic analyses.
The company also recently acquired TTC, a Philadelphia-based benchmarking and analytics company which helps global life science organisations plan for and negotiate the costs of clinical trials.
Anne Delaney, general manager, IMS, said: “To properly assess the value of partnerships and licensing opportunities, clients need to understand the landscape of transactions in the context of real-world evidence. Now we can bring these perspectives together in a unique and innovative way as the industry continues to transform and healthcare stakeholders look for new partnerships and opportunities for growth.”
