UK — Jed Glanvill, the former CEO of Mindshare, has been appointed by the marketing body for national newspapers, Newsworks, as project director to oversee an audience measurement review.
Glanvill will chair an advisory group, which will agree the brief for a cross-platform measurement system and approve the appointment of the research providers.
He will start by recruiting for the group, which will be made up of members from the Institute of Practitioners of Advertising (IPA), Professional Publishers Association (PPA) and the Newspaper Publishers Association (NPA). Glanvill will also consult with the NRS, the current provider of newspaper audience measurement, to establish the best way forward.
The role is initially for a six-month period and Glanvill will continue to build his interim talent management business, Glanvill&Co, in tandem.
Glanvill has more than 20 years’ experience in media, and was previously deputy chairman of the IPA’s Media Futures Group when he was Mindshare CEO.
At the same time Mediatique, the strategic advisory firm, has been appointed to work with Glanvill.
