GfK renews AGF TV ratings contract worth €130m

GERMANY — Germany’s TV measurement partnership AGF has commissioned GfK to continue monitoring TV viewing in Germany until at least 2018 in a contract worth €130m.

GfK will measure national TV usage through a panel of 5,000 households using the GfK TC score measurement device, which will be supplemented by the GfK UMX measurement technology based on the principle of audio-matching.

Data will be made available to TV stations, their advertising sales organisations, media agencies and advertisers on a daily basis. AGF’s partners are TV stations ARD, ProSiebenSat.1, RTL Media Group Germany and ZDF.

GfK has been running the AGF’s TV research system since 1985. This is its sixth successive contractual period.
