GfK buys healthcare market access consultancy
The company will now trade as GfK Bridgehead. 2011 sales were €12m and it employs 60 staff in offices in the UK and the US. CEO Timothy Fitzgerald will continue to lead the business as managing director.
As well as market access consultancy, Bridgehead also advises clients on pricing, reimbursement and health economics.
GfK’s chief operating officer Debra Pruent (pictured) said: “The acquisition of Bridgehead represents an important strategic investment for GfK at a time when governments, insurance companies and other healthcare providers are increasingly using pricing and reimbursement controls in an attempt to contain spiraling healthcare costs.”
