UK— Firefish has hired Hall & Partners’ Majbritt Rijs as head of quantitative. The move comes as the agency announces its 2011/2012 trading figures which saw turnover rise 23% to £7.7m.
Rijs was research director at Hall & Partners for two years and has also worked at TNS, Incite, SPA and Research International. At Firefish she will be managing a team of five quant researchers and will become part of the Firefish Miracle Factory. In her new role, she reports to Firefish CEO Jem Fawcus.
Fawcus says Rijs will be responsible for driving “the already successful quant department”, adding that “the growth over the 2011/2012 financial year has come from an increase in core qualitative business.”
Firefish has recently launched a specialist children’s and family research product called The Pineapple Lounge and opened an office in Amsterdam. It says that turnover in July 2012 is already 30% higher than it was in July 2011.
