Data quality partnership expands to three countries

GLOBAL – The Global Data Quality Partnership, a coordinated effort to address risks to data quality in the market research, consumer insights and analytics industry, has accepted new members in Australia, Canada and Austria.

The partnership said that it has accepted The Research Society in Australia, the Canadian Research Insights Council and the Association of Market Research Austria (VMÖ) as members.

The initiative was launched in March 2023 by the Market Research Society, Esomar, the Insights Association and SampleCon.

The organisations have all pledged to coordinate efforts to fight fraud and address ongoing and emerging risks to data quality, focusing on fraud detection, data quality in qualitative research, identification and mitigation of bias, and improvement of the research participant experience.

Angus Hunter, chief executive at The Research Society, said: “Data quality is fundamental to the future of our research industry. Our work in this area will benefit our members in Australia and the international community.”

Florian Kögl, board member at VMÖ and chief executive at ReDem, added: “When low-quality data becomes rampant, it can have a devastating impact on our industry.

“For this reason, it is paramount that we as an industry do everything in our power to ensure that only high-quality data is used.”
