Capital One buys Bundle to deliver data-powered products
The financial services giant says it has acquired substantially all of the assets of Bundle Corporation. Bundle’s associates will remain located in New York City.
Bundle provides analytics, insights and recommendations based on aggregated spending and local directory data. It uses anonymous, aggregated spending data to rate businesses based on factors such as how many people go there, how often people go back and how much people actually spend.
In a statement, a Capital One spokesperson said: “As our customers become increasingly comfortable using mobile and online channels, we find ourselves engaging with them in new and different ways. Capital One can leverage Bundle’s proprietary analytics technology to deliver new data-powered products and enhanced experiences, giving our customers new insights and objective information that will help them make informed purchasing and spending decisions.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
