US— Link-sharing and shortening platform Bitly has launched a new social media monitoring service for businesses which spots “potentially damaging” threats to brands before they “spiral out of control”.
The new Reputation Monitoring service uses sentiment analysis technology from Lexalytics to pinpoint potential brand threats in Bitly linked content as well as identifying opportunities for brands to shape discussions around breaking topics.
Bitly CEO Peter Stern (pictured) said: “With our new monitoring service, companies are able to respond to social content that impacts their brand much more quickly and proactively. Not only will the system identify topics about to go viral, the service also indicates whether the tone of the content is trending negative or positive – it will even send alerts if a sudden shift in sentiment occurs.”
