UK— BDRC Group has bought ESA Market Research, a retail sector specialist, in a deal that pushes the annual turnover of the group past £20m.
ESA’s team of 35, including CEO Adam Donaldson (pictured), remain with the business, which is based in St Albans.
It works with clients including Amazon.co.uk, B&Q, The Co-operative Group, Next and Sainsbury’s on in-store marketing and customer experience measurement and operates a panel of 10,000 auditors, interviewers and mystery shoppers, as well as a CATI unit.
As part of the takeover, BDRC chairman Ivor Stocker becomes ESA chairman while BDRC CEO Cris Tarrant and Richard Sheldrake, MD of group data collection firm Perspective, join the ESA board.
