US – Following a mass boycott by brands concerned about their ads appearing next to inappropriate content, advertisers are now reportedly returning to YouTube.
According to a story on Marketing Dive, there was a 50% increase in Google preferred advertisers using the platform in May, This followed a 5% drop in advertisers the previous month.
Google reportedly had 508 brands in its top-tier Google preferred programme in May, which is an increase of 134% from the 217 brands in January. According to Google, there were more Google preferred advertisers in May and June than in any other month in 2017.
The average number of channels where ads are run has increased by 9% per month, and the number of days that advertisers run campaigns has increased by 10% per month.
