Ad analytics firm ClearSaleing bought by GSI

M&A North America

US— Advertising analytics firm ClearSaleing has been bought by e-commerce company GSI Commerce to broaden the offering of its marketing services division.

ClearSaleing’s software is used by companies including Toys R Us, Hilton Hotels and Officemax to measure, compare and optimise the return on investment of online advertising campaigns.

CEO Randy Smith (pictured) said the deal allows ClearSaleing to “continue to develop our technology while taking advantage of GSI’s broader resources and market position”.

GSI’s marketing services division now numbers eight companies, including email marketing firm e-Dialog, mobile specialist M3 Mobile and marketing strategy and design agency Silverlign Group.

Deann Harvey, chief sales officer of the GSI division, becomes ClearSaleing’s chief revenue officer with immediate effect.
