Illuminas to conduct research for UK electric car trial
Sixty homes across London and the south-east of England have been recruited for the trial, and each will be given a Smart electric car and have a charging point installed in their home for 12 months from October.
Smart electric meters will be fitted to monitor charging usage but Illuminas will also be conducting research with a view to understanding charging use over time, both in home and out of home. Trial participants will also be brought together “to share experiences and learnings”, the company said.
