US – EBay has announced the acquisition of Canadian analytics company Terapeak, to boost its data analytics capabilities.
The Toronto-based company provides supply, demand and pricing data to e-commerce sellers.
Once the deal is completed, eBay will integrate certain functionalities from Terapeak into its Seller Hub – where sellers can access performance insights and manage inventory.
The transaction is expected to close before the end of 2017. Terapeak’s employees will report into eBay’s Bob Kupbens, vice-president of B2C selling and Sunil Rajasekar, vice-president of seller experience.
Kupbens said: “The integration of Terapeak’s functionalities into Seller Hub – from sales history and performance enhancement opportunities to price guidance and comparisons – will help merchants scale their businesses on eBay.”
