NETHERLANDS — Amsterdam-based mobile analytics firm Distimo has been bought by its US rival App Annie.
The acquisition is App Annie’s first, and was made through a combination of cash and equity – but financial terms have not been disclosed.
Part of the purchase was funded by a $17m investment from App Annie’s existing investors IDG Capital Partners, Greycroft Partners and Sequoia Capital, bringing the company’s total funding to date to $39m.
Following the acquisition, Distimo’s Netherlands HQ will become App Annie’s European R&D centre.
Together, the two firms have their analytics software installed on almost 600,000 mobile apps, with 270,000 registered business users.
