US— M:Metrics co-founder Seamus McAteer is heading up a new business working in the mobile ad targeting space.
Metaresolver partners with agencies to provide them with data for mobile media-buying purposes, mixing location, device and connection information with marketing and media intelligence.
McAteer (pictured) sold the M:Metrics mobile measurement business to ComScore for $44m in 2008. He was also recently a board director at mobile analytics firm Zokem, which was sold to Arbitron last year.
His co-founder in Metaresolver is Mike Rowehl, mobile ad network AdMob’s first engineer and the former senior engineer at mobile app search company Chomp, since acquired by Apple.
It has received $1.85m in funding to date, according to CrunchBase.
