UK – Research and strategy consultancy Populus has appointed YouGov’s Bernadeta Wilk to the newly created role of chief data officer.

Wilk (pictured) spent 11 years at YouGov, most recently as global director of data science and a member of the Profiles product team.

At Populus, she will develop a strategic, client-focused data science practice, working across the group, which includes full-service research and strategy consultancy Populus Limited, fieldwork and data delivery agency Populus Data Solutions and brand strategy company BrandCap.

Insight and innovation agency Decidedly is also now part of Populus, following an acquisition announced earlier this week.

Michael Simmonds co-founder and chief executive, Populus, said: “We have been developing our offer in analytics and data science over the last few years to ensure we are offering our clients the best solutions to answer their most challenging business questions. The recruitment of Bernadeta will allow us to accelerate this development and ensure that we continue to deliver the critical knowledge our clients need to succeed.”
