US— Pet supplies chain Petco has agreed to share census-level point-of-sale data from its 1,000 stores with SymphonyIRI.
The data will be the first from a pet speciality retailer to feed into SymphonyIRI’s market information model, which covers food, drug, mass, convenience and dollar stores.
In return, Petco gets access to the research firm’s RetailAdvantage tool and point-of-sale data that can be used by employees to build understanding of shoppers.
