GERMANY — European purchasing power climbed by around 2% this year, according to a new report from GfK.
According to the study, approximately €8.83 trillion is available to European consumers in 2014 for spending and saving; this corresponds to an average of €13,112 per-capita for the 42 countries under review. This represents a rise in disposable income of around 2%.
According to the study, GfK Purchasing Power Europe 2014/2015, there are considerable differences among the European countries: while Norway has a disposable per-capita income of €30,560, Bulgaria has just €3,097.
The British per-capita national average is €19,136, meaning that Brits have around 36% more purchasing power than European average. Full findings can be accessed here.
