US— Hearst Magazines has appointed Fotoulla Euripidou, formerly of rival publisher Rodale, as vice president and director of consumer research.

Euripidou takes up her new role on 21 March, reporting to editorial director Ellen Levine. Titles published by Hearst include Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Good Housekeeping and Marie Claire.

Levine said: “As the media landscape evolves, Fotoulla’s insights will be key in helping us navigate and evaluate opportunities, from launches to content extensions for our existing brands.”

Euripidou spent the last eight years at Rodale, publisher of Men’s Health and other fitness and wellness titles, latterly as vice president of consumer insights.

Before that she was director of marketing research at Gemstar/TV Guide and a senior project director for media brand research at Total Research/Harris Interactive.
