GfK's actual nine-month sales up on pre-release figures

GERMANY— It’s been an “extraordinarily positive” nine months for GfK, CEO Klaus Wubbenhorst said today, as the firm reported sales up 10.9% to €932.1m.

GfK’s custom research business grew 10.5% to €559.4m while division income almost doubled to €33.5m. Retail and technology revenue was up 14% to €270.7m, with income up 23.7% to €79.4m. Finally, media research sales rose 4.7% to €98.3m, but income was down by €1.3m to €11.2m.

The latest figures show a slight improvement on those released ahead of schedule earlier this month. Group adjusted operating income for the nine-month period was up 34% to €120.4m, while operating income increased 62.7% to €93.6m.

Results for the third quarter specifically show sales up 14% to €322.5m, adjusted operating income up 27% to €48.5m and operating income up 64% to €41.6m.
