$4m funding for iPhone apps analytics business
US-- Mobile ad and analytics agency Medialets has landed $4m in funding 10 months after its launch.
The investment was led by Foundry Group and DFJ Gotham with participation from Bobby Yazdani, an early investor in Google and Salesforce.com.
Writing in the company blog, CEO Eric Litman said: “Together with a series of advisors and new team members we'll announce soon, we'll collectively work to solidify Medialets' position in the market and establish us as the standard for highly measurable, rich media ads in mobile.”
The firm works with developers of mobile phone applications to measure their audience and monetise their products through advertising. Its Medialytics platform reports on the size of an app's user base as well as user behaviour.
Medialets' principal focus is the Apple iPhone and Google Android platforms, however it plans to add support for BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Symbian and Palm Pre devices this year.
