The tech development team, which is located in Scottsdale, will focus on developing a generative business intelligence tool and will be led by senior developer Trevor O’Hara-Oates.

The Ideas sub-team will use retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to gather insights from numerous sources to provide live intelligence and handle inputs across numerous languages.

Users of the tool will be able to navigate data lakes of real-time client data, such as qualitative or quantitative research or sales data, as well as wider data sources like social and search.

Chat functions will allow users to make enquiries across all of the data and generate reports in multiple exportable formats, supplemented by consulting from across the Basis Group.

Rune Mortensen, group chief executive officer at Basis, said: “This will be transformational. It’s a demonstration of our commitment to helping our clients harness the power of AI in insight.”

O’Hara-Oates added: “Fuelled by Basis’ rich intelligence, David Griffiths’ radical approach and the raw power of RAG, we hardwire versatility, thoroughness, and user interactivity into our generative business intelligence solution.”
