Synovate appoints new UK chief executive

Jill Telford moves from Hong Kong to replace Michelle Norman

UK-- Synovate has appointed Jill Telford as its new UK chief executive, moving her from her current role as CEO for Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea.

She replaces Michelle Norman, who is said to be leaving the company to spend more time with her family.

Telford was first appointed managing director of Synovate Hong Kong in 1999 before being made CEO of Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea in 2007.

Synovate CEO Adrian Chedore said: “Jill has been with Synovate for many years and has very successfully run one of the company's largest, most established and widely recognised offices. Her extensive experience of working in one of the most dynamic and highly diverse parts of the world will enable her to effectively leverage the company's talent and capabilities in the UK.”

Telford takes up her new role in January. At the same time, Hong Kong-based executive director Brendan Shair becomes Synovate's Hong Kong MD.

Editor's note: Story has been updated to reflect that Telford becomes CEO of Synovate UK, not MD as previously stated. Shair, meanwhile, becomes Hong Kong MD. He is not replacing Telford as Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea CEO. Apologies for the error.
