Kieselstein quits top job at TNS North America

US— TNS is on the hunt for a new North America CEO after David Kieselstein quit to join b2b media company Penton as chief executive.

Kieselstein’s appointment at Penton was effective as of yesterday. Mike Gettle, TNS’s global finance and operations chief has been handed responsibility for the North American business on an interim basis while the search is on for a permanent replacement.

Gettle has been with TNS since 2009 and was previously CFO of Millward Brown, a sister company of TNS’s within the Kantar Group.

Kieselstein, meanwhile, has led TNS’s North American business since 2008. He was brought in from Dun & Bradstreet to replace Kimberly Till, who went on to lead Harris Interactive.

The move to Penton marks a return to the media industry for Kieselstein, who spent 16 years at Time Warner and once ran the firm’s portfolio of personal finance magazines.

Penton’s titles include Industry Week, American City and County and Supermarket News.
