National Geographic taps Rentrak for VOD ad verification

US— National Geographic Channel has signed an expanded deal with Rentrak for reporting and verifying advertising impressions delivered via its video-on-demand (VOD) platform

NatGeo is already a subscriber to Rentrak’s VOD viewing data service, OnDemand Essentials, but the new contract relates to Rentrak’s recently launched AdEssentials service.

Brad Dancer, the channel’s senior vice president of research and digital media, said: “VOD continues to be an important part of our affiliate and advertiser partnerships and AdEssentials provides us even greater insight into how our viewers are interacting with our brand on VOD.”

  • Rentrak has also hired Brad Nimmons, former director of research for Media General, as a director of client services, responsible for day-to-day management of key customer relationships in the eastern US.
