Dunnhumby buys price modelling and optimisation firm

UK— Database marketing and analytics firm Dunnhumby has acquired KSS Retail, a developer of price modelling and optimisation software.

The firm works with a number of retailer clients, including Kroger – Dunnhumby’s US joint venture partner. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Post-acquisition KSS Retail will operate as an independent business unit of Dunnhumby and maintain its existing management structure, headed by CEO Lance Jacobs.

Dunnhumby CEO and co-founder Edwina Dunn (pictured) said: “We have worked with KSS Retail for the past year and quickly recognised the superiority of their science and price optimisation tool. I am tremendously excited about the opportunity to bring some exceptionally talented and motivated people into the Dunnhumby family.”
