Brands go face to face with consumers in The White Room

Hall & Partners alumni tap mobile video technology for direct consumer feedback

UK-- Hall & Partners alumni Richard Head, Mike Hall and Claire Bickerton have come together to give qual research a Marketing 2.0 makeover with their new agency HHB.

The first offering from the business is a service called The White Room, which allows brand owners to gather thoughts and opinions from consumers using mobile phone video technology.

People signing up to take part in the service are sent questions in text message form. To answer the questions, participants have to make a video call to a dedicated White Room number where their responses are stored.

Clients can then access these videos and the accompanying analysis online, while respondents are paid at least £2.50 per call.

“The service is founded on the principle of letting people talk for themselves in a natural, unpressured, unmediated way for insight into what truly matters,” said Mike Hall, who set up Hall & Partners in 1992.

He left the company in 2005 and was most recently unveiled as a founder member of the new Verve Partners business, working alongside Research Now co-founder Andrew Cooper and ex-ID Factor owner Jon Gumbrell.

The White Room, however, is the brainchild of Richard Head, a former head of qual research at Hall & Partners and one-time planner for Ogilvy Action and Fitch. Claire Bickerton, meanwhile, is a former group business director of Hall & Partners.

HHB is online here.
