Repucom adds consulting to UK sport research offer

People UK

UK— Repucom is bolstering its UK sports research offering with a new consultancy service to help clients monetise sport and entertainment investments using media evaluation, consumer research and market intelligence products.

The new offer will be headed up by Ed Wooller, who joins the firm from Mindshare consultancy mSport. He will be assisted by Gerald Powell, who joins the firm after almost four years as a senior analyst at McKinsey.

The move follows the acquisition in March of the IFM Group by Repucom’s parent company RSMG Insights. Wooller and colleagues will be part of a 45-strong UK team with a brief to boost revenues by focusing on providing greater insight and intelligence to clients, through tools such as its sponsorship tracking services.

Meanwhile, Charlie Dundas (pictured) has been promoted to the post of Repucom EVP for the UK and Ireland and will be in charge of the enlarged office. He joined the company from WPP’s MediaCom Sport in July as an SVP and says: “Sports sponsorship has grown up in the last 10 years and to justify its place on the marketing schedule brands need quality data, great insight and understanding of what it can deliver.”

Other new recruits include Svenja Simon as global head of media, also formerly of MediaCom, and Matt Timbrell as business development manager, who joins from West Ham United Football Club.
