UK — The Market Research Society has unveiled its latest membership survey results, which reveal that while many concerns are being addressed, there is still plenty of room for improvement.

The MRS conducted the member research over the summer in order to ensure that its strategywas in line with what its members wanted for the future of the society.

MRS Chairman Phyllis Macfarlane, said: “A key finding from the research is the desire that MRS takes a stronger leadership role. There is an overall positive message from the research that came out loud and clear: there’s a tremendous amount of goodwill towards MRS.

“This research gives us the detail we need to build on the foundations laid over the last 12 months, to move into the 21t century by embracing new forms of communication so that we can serveand support you better, and fulfil our remit to champion the research market, its quality and standards, to a much broader audience than ever before.”

CEO Jane Frost (pictured) adds: “It is only too clear that MRS needs to rethink its communications to be in line with our members’ lives. To deliver members a real badge of expertise we need to raise the overall profile of MRS with stakeholders that matter.”

The MRS leadership role covers four areas: ethics, professional development, promoting the market research sector, and communication and connection. You can download the full overview (PDF) as it appeared in the November issue of Research or see the key findings here.
