US – Research services and mobile surveys business GeoPoll has appointed Dr Charles Lau as its first chief research officer.
Lau previously led multi-mode surveys and researched survey methods at RTI International for 12 years, most recently leading the company’s international survey research programme.
At GeoPoll, Lau will support the business’ mobile data collection and research projects.
Lau has worked on research projects involving the US State Department, USAID and the Pew Research Center, and his research focuses on improving data quality through survey methods, sampling and measurement strategies.
In addition, Lau has published 20 peer-reviewed articles in journals including the International Journal of Public Opinion Research, Survey Research Methods and the Journal of International Development, and recently served as an member and co-moderator on a US National Academies of Sciences panel on the quality of international survey data.
