Appointments and promotions in the global market research industryMANISH BHATIA has been moved from his role as president of global services and US sales at Nielsen Online to president of advanced digital services at Nielsen Co. In the newly created role, Bhatia will find ways to integrate data from digital set-top devices into Nielsen's traditional TV and online measurement services.
Nielsen has also announced a restructure of its client facing teams for TV Network customers in the IAG, Online and Mobile divisions. The new structure will be led by executive vice president of networks RACHEL MUELLER-LUST.
JULIA HORLOV has been promoted to partner at UK research and insight agency McCallum Layton. She joined the firm in 2001 and leads the qualitative research team.
The Research Partnership has appointed AJIT BAID as managing director of its US operations. He was previously senior director of client services at pharmaceutical marketing agency Genactis.
AISLING MURPHY has re-joined Angus Reid Strategies in Canada as senior research manager. She has spent the past seven years working in the UK for Hall & Partners in the health care sector.
RAMESH MANGHIRMALANI has joined US consumer research agency Global Market Hub as vice president of strategic development. He was previously director of business development for Ryder Systems.
PETE BLACKSHAW and JAMES EDMUND DATRI have joined the board of the National Advertising Review Council. Blackshaw is executive vice president of online digital strategic services at Nielsen and Datri is the new president and chief executive of the American Advertising Federation.
UK agency Continental Research has appointed MILES MATTHEWS as qualitative research manager in the public sector team. He has previously worked at BMRB, 2CV and Quaestor. The firm has also hired ANNE GALLICA, formerly of GfK Technology, as senior research executive in the same team.
SHAHID AWAN has joined UK keyword research firm Wordtracker as search evangelist. He was previously SEO director at Walker Media.
SIMON STEEL has been appointed to the newly created head of insight role at UK database firm Eclipse Marketing. Steel previously provided analytics services to companies including Travis Perkins and Toyota.
US database and analytics firm Acxiom has hired MICHAEL DARVICHE as chief marketing officer and senior vice president. He previously founded email marketing service Bigfoot.
TERRENCE ROUSE has joined US biotechnology marketing agency Altum as senior vice president and group strategic planner. He was previously senior manager for market research at Pharmion.
Canadian crowdsourced market research firm Mob4Hire has appointed JOHN CARPENTER as chief technology officer. He was most recently ‘architect of geoservices' at Useful Networks.
UK online insight community builder FreshNetworks has appointed HOLLY SEDDON as community manager. She has previously worked as commercial content editor for the Daily Mail and Evening Standard online.
