US— Retail footfall counter ShopperTrak has acquired ReTel Technologies, a Silicon Valley developer of video auditing and advanced shopper analysis software.
ShopperTrak plans for ReTel’s kit to become part of its managed service offering where it will provide retailers with customer demographics, queue analysis, and speed-of-service and sales process effectiveness measurement.
These are all “store performance factors that directly affect both the customer’s experience and the retailer’s revenue,” said ShopperTrak CMO Ed Marcheselli.
ReTel’s analysis is based on audits of in-store security camera feeds. The four-year-old company is headed by co-founder and CEO George Aspland (pictured).
