Sport England and DCMS propose changes to sports surveys

UK

UK— The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and government agency Sport England have kicked off a consultation about changing the way sport participation is measured.

Sport England and the DCMS want to introduce a single survey in place of the existing two, the Taking Part and Active People surveys, while looking to new data collection methods such as online and mobile to provide wider survey coverage and improved value for money.

TNS-BMRB, which currently runs both surveys, will provide “technical expertise” on any potential changes to the surveys. Details on the proposals, and how to provide feedback, can be found here.
