MSN Japan picks Omniture for web analytics

SiteCatalyst tool to drive targeted advertising

JAPAN— MSN Japan, a division of Microsoft, has agreed a deal with web analytics firm Omniture to run the SiteCatalyst program on its sites.

The software will be used to gather real-time data from site users to help MSN Japan better understand visitors’ content interest and provide targeting information for advertisers.

MSN Japan’s channel manager Hiroaki Takei said: “SiteCatalyst provides superior analytics capabilities, allowing us to obtain the right information at the right time. The product’s graphical dashboards make it easy to gain insight and understand the status of our online business.”

The firm had previously used a web analytics product that required manual processing but the SiteCatalyst tool is fully automated and is already in use on other MSN sites in the US, Europe and Asia.
