Google goes public with app analytics beta

Data analytics North America

US— Google has opened its mobile app analytics tool to the public after a closed beta period involving 5,000 mobile app developers.

Mobile app analytics has been in closed beta since the Google I/O conference in June. Developer JiaJing Wang said measuring mobile behaviour was “more important now then ever”, pointing to recent research Google conducted with ClickZ which found that over 80% of marketers plan to increase their emphasis on mobile initiatives next year.

The version of the tool released at I/O covered acquisition and user analysis, engagement flow and completed conversions via ad clicks or in-app purchases. One new addition for the public beta allows developers to track how many app owners are using older versions of their software and how quickly they are updating.

Wang shares more detail on the Google Analytics blog.
