Product of the Year launches in Canada

CANADA— TNS Canadian Facts will survey 12,000 consumers to find out Canada’s Product of the Year for 2010, the first time the scheme has been run in the country.

Product of the Year asks consumers to vote for the “most innovative” products across several categories and the firm has opened a new office in Toronto to act as its Canadian base.

TNS Canadian Facts will use its own consumer panel to carry out the online study, quizzing respondents on products launched over the past 18 months.

Product of the Year says that, on average, companies that win the accolade see a 10% to 15% rise in sales.
