Usability consultancy Foviance acquires Applied Insights

AI co-founder Neil Mason to head new Foviance analytics arm

UK-- Usability and user experience consultancy Foviance has acquired analytics agency Applied Insights for an undisclosed amount.

Applied Insights, which specialises in consumer insight and web/predictive analytics, will be rebranded Foviance Applied Insights as part of Foviance's plan to offer customers a “comprehensive customer experience”.

Neil Mason, one of the co-founders of Applied Insights, will head the new division as director of analytical consulting and take a seat on the Foviance board.

Mason said: “They [Foviance] have been aware for some time that data, analytics and insight are critical to understanding the user experience and getting it right. The acquisition of an analytics consultancy like Applied Insights is a natural move in terms of developing the overall proposition.”

Foviance CEO Paul Blunden added: “Our combined global customer base now has a partner with proven expertise to deliver a strong blend of business, analytical and technology consulting capabilities.”

AI's other co-founder, John McConnell, is embarking on a new consultancy venture. McConnell told Research that he “was still formulating” his plans and would be able to give further details by the end of the month.
