Ugam embarks on North American expansion

Former Harris EVP named regional president as outsourcing firm opens two new offices

US-- Indian outsourcing firm Ugam Research Solutions has opened two more offices in the US and appointed a new leader for North American operations as it looks to expand its presence in the region.

Newly-appointed president Jim Frederickson was formerly executive vice president of global research operations and information technology at Harris Interactive. He has been tasked with building Ugam's US team following the opening of offices in Dallas and Rochester.

Russell Britt also joins the company as senior vice president of sales and marketing. Birt was previously vice president of custom survey solutions at Information Resources and has worked for Nielsen and TNS before that.

Ugam CEO Sunil Mirani said the firm was looking to benefit from the global recession by offering cheaper outsourced work. He said: “We anticipate continued growth as market research firms look to us during these troubled economic times for higher quality, superior service and more cost efficient solutions.”

On the new additions, Mirani said: “Jim and Russell's appointments demonstrate our desire to invest in senior management talent and our confidence in the growth of the business.”

The firm already has an office in New York City, two in India and one in the UK.
