Twitter rolls out Local Trends tool

US— Twitter has launched a new service that allows users to see what the most popular conversation topics are at state and city levels.

Local Trends began to “slowly roll out” last week and is now fully live, allowing users to see what the main topics of conversation are in 15 cities in the US, UK and Brazil, including New York, Washington, London and São Paulo.

It is also possible to break the search down by country. The first countries to be added are Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Mexico, the UK and the US.

Twitter said that more countries, states and cities will be added in the future.
