P&G plans new online store as 'research lab'

US— Proctor & Gamble is to launch a new website to study how people shop and buy online – while selling some of its most popular products direct to consumers.

The Associated Press reports that the new ‘eStore’ will act as as a “research lab”, with P&G being more interested in developing a better understanding of customers’ online behaviours than generating sales.

P&G will trial the new site with employees before launching it to a pool of 5,000 English-speaking US customers. Other countries and languages could be added in the future, the report said.
